Annapolis Mayor Mike Pantelides Accepts Job at Chris’s Charcoal Pit

Hopes to work for Public Works next

Just happy to be part of the team.

Annapolis (SPP) – Recently defeated Annapolis City Mayor Mike Pantelides will have a new job when he leaves office in December. He reported today that he has accepted a job at Chris’s Charcoal Pit as a dish washer.

“Yeah, I’m really excited,” Pantelides said today when asked about his new job at the Greek owned restaurant on West Street in Annapolis. “I hope to be promoted to cashier at some point so I can interact with members of the community again.”

Pantelides noted that one of his cousins helped him to land the position. “He’s a bus boy over there. He put me in contact with the owner and gave me a real good recommendation. Can’t thank him enough.”

While Pantelides will be starting at minimum wage, he sounded optimistic about his future, indicating that the Mayor-elect, Gavin Buckley, said he would try to find him a part-time job with the Annapolis Public Works, once Buckley is sworn in. “Gavin hasn’t really been returning my calls recently. But I think he is just busy. But I’m sure he’ll get back to me. Hopefully it won’t be long until I can spend my weekends emptying trash cans and cleaning up our beautiful city.”
